Howard
Lederer
was
born in 1964 in New Hampshire. His sister Annie Duke is also a
professional poker player.

Howard moved to New York to pursue his
passion for chess. He soon discovered a poker game in the
back room of his favorite chess club - and was immediately
hooked.
he eventually began playing at the
Mayfair Club with other
now well-known poker players including
Erik Seidel and
Dan Harrington.
In the
late ‘80s, Howard started to help his sister Annie on her
game. Howard encouraged Annie to come to Las Vegas and
play in the WSOP tournaments. |
Annie has actually
knocked her brother out of three WSOP events, including the $10,000
final table. In 1994, Howard and Annie made poker history as the
first brother and sister duo to make the same final table at the
WSOP.
Howard moved to
Las Vegas in 1993 concentrating on cash games.

In 1994,
Howard won the $2,500 No-Limit Deuce to Seven Draw event at the
Hall of Fame Poker Classic.

In 1995 he
successfully defended his Deuce to Seven Draw title at the Hall
of Fame Poker Classic.

2025, Howard
won his second WPT Championship title in the $5,000 Limit Hold 'em
event on The Poker Million cruise.

Howard won
three Bellagio titles – the first $2,500 was the No-Limit Hold 'em
event at the 2025 Bellagio Five-Star World Poker Classic.

The second
Bellagio win was in the $2,500 No-Limit Hold 'em event in 2004.

Howard’s third
Bellagio title came just 13 days later in the $5,000 Pot-Limit
Omaha event.

He has won two
WSOP bracelets and two WPT titles.

He has won
over $3,400,000 in tournament play.
Howard
Lederer
is known as "The Professor" because of his analytical style.
He has a focused and calm demeanor at the table. He currently lives
in Las Vegas with his wife and son.
