Clearing Poker
Bonuses
Online poker sites
offer cash bonuses to all new players as an
incentive to sign up and play poker at Poker
Site A rather than any of its competitors. The
online poker industry is competitive so poker
bonuses have grown in size over the years.
Today, it’s not uncommon to find poker bonuses
worth $500 or more.
The
term “clearing poker bonuses” refers to the
actions you must take to release your bonus
money. In other words, you have to play poker to
get your money. Poker sites don’t just give you
the cash right up front. That would be suicidal
because it would invite everyone in the world to
make a quick deposit and cash out an extra $500
or so.
Most
poker sites require you to earn X number of
frequent player points for every $1.00 worth of
bonus money. For example, if get a $100 bonus at
a site that requires you to earn 20 frequent
player points per $1.00 of bonus money, you
would need to earn 2,000 player points. In most
cases, the money is released in $5.00 increments
as you play.
Is it difficult to clear a poker bonus?
Actually, clearing poker bonuses is easy. Poker
deposit bonuses aren’t just cheap sales tricks.
They really do give you extra money to play
poker. You have to play a fair amount of poker
to earn your bonus but it’s not anything too
tough. The higher stakes you play, the faster
the money is released.
Sometimes it sounds like you have to earn a ton
of frequent player points but it’s really not
too bad. Poker sites give out frequent player
points left and right, so earning enough to
clear your bonus doesn’t take nearly as long as
you would think. Just concentrate on playing
tight, solid poker and your bonus will be
released in no time.
All
you have to do is play poker like you normally
would. The bonus money will be automatically
released to your real money account. After that,
you can keep playing or withdraw the money as
you please. Once you clear the poker bonus, the
money is yours to keep.
Clearing Poker Bonuses Quickly
The
fastest way to clear a poker bonus is to do
nothing different than you normally would. Just
play poker like you were planning on doing and
don’t think too hard about the bonus. The money
will come as you play. You might not even notice
it at first if the bonus is released in $5.00
increments.
It can
be tempting to move up in stakes to clear your
bonus faster but that’s not a good idea unless
you have the bankroll to play at higher stakes.
In most cases, you should just continue playing
at whatever stakes you always play at. Moving up
to clear a bonus is often counter productive
because it puts your entire bankroll at risk and
forces you to play against more skilled players.
There
is one trick I’ve learned over the years,
though. If you’re a small stakes player and the
bonus is clearing way too slowly, you can make a
switch to Omaha poker for a while to clear the
poker bonus. Pots in small stakes Omaha games
tend to be larger than pots at comparable Holdem
games. Just learn a little basic
Omaha strategy, play a
tight game and wait for strong hands. Your bonus
will clear in no time.
